MANILA (UPDATE) - The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and its furnished wing, the New People's Army (NPA) on Friday announced a 7-day one-sided truce taking after the brief arrival of their individuals who will partake in peace chats with the administration.
The CPP, in an announcement, said the truce will produce results beginning 12:01 a.m. on August 21 and will last until 11:59 p.m. on August 27.
Comrade and government moderators will have formal talks in Oslo, Norway from August 22 to 26.
Rebel pioneers Benito and Wilma Tiamzon were liberated on safeguard Friday, joining 17 other National Democratic Front (NDF) experts allowed brief flexibility so far to join the peace talks in Norway.
